From Larissa & Michael: In 2011, a year after turning 50, we sold everything including our home and took off from Philadelphia for what we thought would be a year-long journey around the world. After embracing a much simpler lifestyle, we're still on the road as full-time global nomads. You've probably noticed that most travel blogs are written by backpackers in their 20s or 30s. We're different. First of all, we use wheeled suitcases, not backpacks. Although we aren't staying in hostels, we're also not luxury travelers. Usually we rent an apartment for a month or so. We're digital nomads and write the weekly "Field-Tested Travel Tips" column for the Philadelphia Inquirer and contribute to other media outlets as we travel. Here on our blog we provide advice for people who like to travel slowly and soak up the local culture.
